The Exhibition Season Is Here, With A Dense Schedule Of Industry Events Taking Place.
In late August, China's wire harness and connector industry will welcome a series of significant exhibitions. On August 26, the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center will host two major industry events simultaneously. The 7th AR/AI Smart Glasses/VR Industry Forum and Exhibition will focus on new products such as Type C coaxial data cables for AR glasses. On the same day, the 16th Shenzhen International Connector, Cable, Wire Harness, and Processing Equipment Exhibition will also open, welcoming nearly 700 companies from around the world with an exhibition area of 40,000 square meters.
The following day, Shanghai and Shenzhen will each host another major exhibition. On August 27, the 12th China International Wire & Cable Industry Exhibition will open at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, covering an area of 57,500 square meters and featuring nearly 750 exhibitors.
The EeIE Smart Expo and Automotive Parts Theme Exhibition at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center will also begin, with connectors and precision wire harness components taking center stage. These four large-scale professional exhibitions in just three days highlight the vibrant energy of the industry.
Market Expansion, with China's Share Continuously Rising
The global wire harness and connector market is experiencing significant growth. The latest data shows that the size of China's connector, cable, and wire harness industry is expected to exceed $35 billion by 2025, accounting for 35% of the global market. This share is projected to increase to 40% by 2030, as China gradually becomes the global industry hub. The surge in smart wearable devices is injecting strong momentum into the wire harness industry. IDC predicts that the global shipment of smart glasses will reach 14.518 million units in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 42.5%. The performance in the Chinese market is particularly impressive, with an expected shipment of 2.907 million units, representing a growth rate of 121.1%. Among these, the growth in audio products reaches 178.4%, leading to a sharp increase in demand for miniature, high-precision wire harnesses. In the field of new energy vehicles, the demand for high-voltage connectors and specialized wire harnesses is rapidly increasing along with the rise in electric vehicle production. The industry is currently undergoing a critical transformation from "quantity change" to "quality change."
Technological Innovation, Automation, and Patent Breakthroughs
In response to the growing market demand, technological innovation has become the core driving force for industry development. Leading companies are launching automation solutions to enhance production efficiency and product accuracy. High-end equipment such as fully automatic wire winding and shell insertion machines have become a hot investment area for enterprises. In a recent bidding project, multiple intelligent equipment companies participated in the tender for fully automatic wire winding and shell insertion machines, highlighting the strong market demand for automated production equipment.
Significant progress has also been made in the patent field. A newly authorized utility model patent showcases an innovative board-end connector design that reduces production costs by 30% through a detachable spring clip structure. This design allows manufacturers to mass-produce high-cost components while flexibly adjusting the sheath structure, solving the technical challenge of adapting to different thicknesses of insertion sheets.
Wiring harness processing technology is also continuously advancing. New technologies set to be showcased at upcoming exhibitions include FAKRA/HSD automated smart production lines, Ethernet MTD/HMTD wiring harness automated equipment, and new energy
Vehicle Wiring Harness automated production lines. These innovations will drive the industry toward smarter and more flexible manufacturing.
